EDUCATED, by Tara Westover. A book that lives up to the hype. It is truly heartbreaking to watch the kids in this Randy Weaver-era family try to cope with or break away their from loving but reactionary parents. Parents who unintentionally put them in danger, more than once. I would love to hear what other readers think. So much was disturbing, but I couldn't put it down. The thing about being raised in cult environment is that you don't know you're being raised in a cult environment. The scene in her room (was it in Harvard?) with her parents, that tore me apart. Then when she wrote about her aunt being excited to see her, I looked at my own family with new eyes.
