Welcome!

LOUISE PENNY on WICKED AUTUMN: "A superb novel! Filled with humor and insight, G.M. Malliet creates a fabulous setting in Nether Monkslip and a great series hero in Father Max Tudor. Rarely have I read descriptions that have left me gasping, in both their hilarity and their painful truth. A wonderful read."

From the series named "Best Mystery of the Year" by Library Journal and The Boston Globe.

A new look for the St. Just series. DEATH AND THE FINAL CUT is #7. Preorder now for NOVEMBER 2025. "A twisty mystery" - Booklist "I absolutely love the dramatic vibes of this book, both in the mystery and fame/acting aspects. This was my favorite mystery - so perfectly written." - NetGalley reviewer
G.M. Malliet is the author of the Max Tudor novels WICKED AUTUMN, A FATAL WINTER, PAGAN SPRING, and A DEMON SUMMER, all shortlisted for the AGATHA AWARD for best traditional mystery. To date there are eight Max Tudor novels, with a Christmas novel planned for the 2026 holidays.

Her first novel was the AGATHA AWARD-winning DEATH OF A COZY WRITER, the first book in the DCI St. Just mystery series, selected by Kirkus Reviews as one of the Best Books of 2008.

The St. Just series continued with DEATH IN CORNWALL (2022) and DEATH IN PRINT (2023). A new series starring crime writer Augusta Hawke also launched in July 2022, and the Max Tudor series continued in 2023 with THE WASHING AWAY OF WRONGS from Hachette / Little, Brown UK.

Praise for the G.M. Malliet mysteries:

"A DEMON SUMMER makes the case that [Malliet] may be the best mystery author writing in English at the moment (along with Tana French). She's certainly the most entertaining..." Cleveland.com

Rhys Bowen on DEATH OF A COZY WRITER: "The traditional British cozy is alive and well. Delicious. I was hooked from the first paragraph."

Charlaine Harris on the Max Tudor novels: "G.M. Malliet has crafted the English village of our dreams.”

Marilyn Stasio of The New York Times: "a charming series."

Also by G.M. Malliet: WEYCOMBE, a standalone novel of suspense. Like the Max Tudor books it is set in an English village, but it offers a darker take on village life.

G.M. Malliet is also the author of many short stories published in mystery anthologies and in The Strand, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine.

Praise for WICKED AUTUMN, the first Max Tudor mystery:

"A superb novel! Filled with humor and insight, G.M. Malliet creates a fabulous setting in Nether Monkslip and a great series hero in Father Max Tudor. Rarely have I read descriptions that have left me gasping, in both their hilarity and their painful truth. A wonderful read."
~~ Louise Penny, Agatha award–winning author of the Armand Gamache mysteries

"One of the most delightful English village mysteries I’ve read since Agatha Christie stopped writing about Saint Mary Mead. G.M. Malliet’s sly allusions to both Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot will make Christie fans chuckle, but Nether Monkslip is no village that time forgot—not with its new age citizenry and a vicar who’s a dishy ex-MI5. Highly recommended."
~~ Margaret Maron, Edgar, Anthony, Agatha winner, and author of CHRISTMAS MOURNING

"A contemporary and deliciously wicked homage to Agatha Christie's village mysteries, with an equally delicious hero who is infinitely sexier than Miss Marple. Once readers meet handsome, intelligent, witty MI5 spy-turned-Anglican priest Max Tudor, they'll be searching their maps for the village of Nether Monkslip!"
~~ Deborah Crombie, New York Times bestselling author of NECESSARY AS BLOOD

"Hugely funny, exquisitely well written, Wicked Autumn is a tongue-in-cheek village mystery to be savored. G.M. Malliet's arch tone and wry humor make her a writer to be treasured."
~~ Julia Spencer-Fleming, bestselling author of ONE WAS A SOLDIER

"G. M. Malliet has brought the village cozy into the 21st century—where else could the Vicar be retired from MI5? Written with dry humor and a wickedly accurate portrait of the modern English village, WICKED AUTUMN is a refreshing and fun read for everyone who loves a really good murder."
~~ Charles Todd, NY Times Best-selling author of the Inspector Ian Rutledge Series

Death of a Cozy Writer is a book anyone who cut their teeth on Agatha Christie’s mysteries will treasure. I read it once for the story, and plan to read it a second time just to savor the language. It’s that good.

"In the second outing for her stalwart police detective, Chief Inspector Arthur St. Just of Cambridge, the author treats us to an absolutely delicious skewering of the world of mystery publishing and its none-too-savory denizens."
