Happy Easter everyone, a day late. These Pysanky Easter eggs are 27 years old. The tradition was brought to Pennsylvania by Ukrainian immigrants who came to work the mines many decades ago.
The design is created by dipping a pin in wax and using it to paint. When the egg is dipped in dye, the design emerges. Pretty much the same principle as with the kits you buy in the pharmacy these days only much more delicate because of the pin.
