I just now sent the manuscript for Augusta Hawke to my agent. It is the first in a series of mysteries and all going well, it will appear some time next year. I believe this first one will just be called AUGUSTA HAWKE. I am falling in love with the character of Augusta, who is approaching middle age with a don't care attitude and an increasingly tendency to want to escape the tedium of her crime writer's life and replace it with adventure and real-life detection. Augusta continues to surprise me as I turn my attention now to the second book. I've been trying out a few titles for it.
The cover I have firmly in mind; I hope the publisher likes my idea.
First, of course, they have to like the book!
