My short stories have appeared in The Strand, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and numerous anthologies.
In January 2025, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine published "Cold Cases," a paranormal story. Two more mysteries, both historicals, arrived in 2025 from Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine: "The Unwanted Guest" (March/April) and "The Get-Well Gift" (September/October).
Two recent anthologies contain my short stories. Josh Pachter's Friend of the Devil, which has my "Pride of Cucamonga," is a 2025 Anthony nominee for Best Anthology.
Martin Edward's Midsummer Mysteries contains four stories nominated for Best Short Story by the Crime Writers Association of the UK:
April 2020: My short story “Whiteout” came in third place in the 2019 Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine Readers Award poll. It is the story of a man who sees more than may be good for him when he's sidelined by a skiing accident. In July 2020 it was also nominated for a Macavity Award for Best Short Story.
The authors of the top-ranked EQMM stories gave their Readers Award acceptance speeches virtually.
